Plot : A Son who is very fanatic about his father is shocked when he finds out about an attack on his father by an unknown enemy. Driven by anger , the son decides to take revenge and does not care about the consequences.

Ranbir Kapoor as the Protagonist has literally reinvented himself in this complicated role and has excelled completely. Anil Kapoor gets a similar grey shaded role and performs phenomenally . Rashmika as the Female Lead gets her moments but her performance and characterisation is bogged down by unknown reasons. Bobby Deol gets very limited roke and just does a great job. Tripti Dimri in a small role does decently. 

Technically the film is slick. Thanks to Rameshwar Harshavardhan's Exceptional Background Music and Sandeep's Unconventional Edit pattern. Cinematography by Amit Roy stands out at times. Average VFX. Songs by multiple music directors are good as they all are montage songs.

SRV's Varied characterisation of the Protagonist is what drives this film. His writing and over-all presentation is completely off beat. The initial hour is spent in setup with a wonderful changeover by Ranbir that will surprise audience. Sandeep has bravely taken some sequences that will surprise the audience. Beyond the Long Runtime , the first half runs at a relative faster pace .

On the flipside , the film completely dips in the second. The Second half just wanders here and there. Also there a lot of Problematic And Toxic Character traits and decisions that might not go well with audience. The Antagonist sketch of Bobby Deol could've been much stronger but instead is half cooked. The Tripti Dimri Track feels so out of the blue and dips the pace.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga tries to outdo his previous outing Arjun Reddy/Kabir Singh in many ways (both negative and positive) and has successfully accomplished that. Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor excel at thier parts which tends to become Ranbir's Career best in a long time.The Film has a very controversial approach to serious issues like Toxic Parenting but does not try to give a proper solution to that problems. The film definitely will trigger a lot of groups and might be the most polarizing movie of 2023. Either you'll love it for it bold making or hate it for the controversy, there's no inbetween.

Overall: Animal is a partly problematic/toxic film and a partly entertaining movie that can be watched for Career best performance of Ranbir and the unapologetic making of Sandeep . But Caution: watch with an open mind and you'll end up in the either extreme.
