#AntMan&TheWasp Quantumania Review

#Ant-ManAndTheWasp #Quantumania
2023- English - Theatre
Starring : Paul Rudd , Johnathan Majors , Evangeline Lilly , Kathryn Newton, Michelle Pfieffer and Micheal Douglas with Bill Muray
Directed by Peyton Reed
Plot : Scott Lang and his family including Cassie, Hope, Hank Pym and Janet get sucked into the Quantum Realm and are forced to face Kang , The Conquerer a Tyrant who is ruling Quantum Realm by enslaving everyone there .

Paul Rudd is charismatic and gets a pretty good character arc from becoming a funny superhero to a Serious Avenger who has to face an Avenger level threat. But the showstealer is Johnathan Majors as Kang The Conquerer ! His authoritative voice , Royal Behaviour and Minuet Level detailing of the character is fantastic! He is scary, cool and dangerous!!! Evangeline Lilly doesn't get much to play but Kathryn Newton gets a meaty role and has performed really well. More than Micheal Douglas, it's Michelle Pfieffer who gets a great arc about a character who is hiding something that might change entire people's perception about her. Bill Muray in a cameo is funny. MODOK is fun to watch !

The Film's Visual is terrific! Especially sequences where Characters discover and dwelve more into Quantum Realm is beautiful. The film's visual for sure has some comparisons with Star Wars Series. Loved the editing which cuts inbetween Scott's Track and Janet's Track parallelly.

The Film's problem lies in the base plot. The films way too Generic and follows the tried and tested paths that almost 20+ Marvel movies had followed. Seems like the makers entirely depended on Kang and his Backstory to make the film work...it does work but not fully. Also the Underdeveloped Character Arcs (especially of MODOK) and Big level logic loopholes bog this down .

Director Peyton Reed has ensured that the thrid film in Ant Man has to be bigger and better. Is it bigger ? Yess much bigger..Is it better ?? Well not fully

Positives :
1) Quantum Realm Exploration Scenes
2)Kang The Conquerer
3) Multiple Scott Lang Scenes
4)2 Post Credit scenes

Negative:
1) Predictable Story and Screenplay
2)Takes time mostly in Character Building and World Building rather than the main plot

Overall: Quantumania is a Pretty Decent Marvel Film that has a Very predictable story but can be watched for the Spellbouding Visuals and A Fantastic Performance by Jonathan Majors as Kang and mainly for the 2 Post Credits which are a blast

Rating - 3/5
