#KadaisiUlagaPor
Tamil - 2024
Starring : Hip-hop Tamizha Aadhi , Natty Natraj , Anagha , Harish Uthamman, Kalyan , Nassar ,Azhagam Perumal , Munishkanth and SingamPuli
Directed by Hip-hop Tamizha Aadhi
Plot: When Russia and China break away from the United Nations , they form a separate Republic. Parallelly a Love Story between the CM's Daughter and a Common Guy happens. When both these storylines collide , Chennai gets attacked and taken over by the Republic Army , the Protagonist and the remaining survivors fight back .

Performance wise , Aadhi as the protagonist has done what is needed. Though at mass moments he still looks amateurish, his screen presence somewhat pulls it off. The Main Showstealer is Natty Natraj from whose POV the entire film happens. His performance is fantastic with layered Characterization and sarcastic humour. Anagha as Lead Heroine gets a good role in the First Half but is completely forgotten in the Second Half. Decent Performance. The rest of the cast including Nassar , Harish Uthamman, Kalyan, Munishkanth and SingamPuli get good roles and sequences where each and everyone scores . Great Casting has largely benefitted this film. The Actors who were cast as Srilankan and Chinese were decent.

Technically the film is really strong. The VFX that they pulled off with a limited budget is fantastic! It was really convincing . Editing by Pradeep Raghav was great. Cinematography by Arjunan was beautiful especially capturing the Camp and other setups. Special Mention to the Art Department who recreated all Chennai's Major Attractions in Big Screen ! While the Runtime felt a little bit more , they could've trimmed some 5-10 mins easily.

The Inital 20-30 mins takes time to establish the setting. While there are some forced sequences there , eventually they all lead up to a interesting Interval Block. While the Film has a fairly engaging First Half , the Second Half is where the entire Post Apocalyptic Setup comes into the scene. Though the screenplay takes multiple advantages here and there , the film doesn't try to deviate from the core idea .

Talking about the film's Negatives, the film's treatment especially with Humour seemed forced at times. While there are some sequences that are meant to be very crucial and serious, the makers have used Humour to treat it and that inturn diluted the seriousness at times. While the film's Second Half is where the the core plot comes into play , the film's First Half and latter half seemed like Two Different films stitched together . Also the Antagonist Characterization looked very weak and could've been sketched better. Also there are many Reasons & Situations that are just told on the surface, they could've been explained the reason behind it.

Hip Hop Aadhi has taken a very unique storyline and tried to weave a film around it. While the Base Concept of One Nation , One Republic might seem offbeat, Aadhi has fleshed out a complete story surrounding it and doesn't just depend on that aspect to story. To sum it all up , Kadaisi Ulaga Por has some flaws but overall works as a unique thriller film that works largely.

Overall: Kadaisi Ulaga Por works as a completely different and bold attempt in Kollywood that definitely can be watched once.
Rating :3-3.25/5
