#GodzillaXKongTheNewEmpire Review
#GodzillaXKong : The New Empire
2024g- English - Theatre
Starring: Rebecca Hall , Dan Stevens , Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle
Directed by Adam Wingard
Plot : Post the Events of Godzilla Vs Kong, Kong has settled in Hollow Earth and is searching for more of his clan. Parallelly Godzilla on Surface realises about an impending threat and decides to power and upgrade itself. What is that Threat , How is that Threat related to Kong and his clan ? How do they team and defeat the Threat forms the rest of the crux.
Performance wise , there is only limited Human casting and everyone did their part well. Dan Stevens as Trapper is enjoyable. Brian Tyree's One Liners work. Rebecca Hall and Kaylee get a serious role and have performed well.
Technically the film is top notch. Music by Tom H and Antonio DiLorio ramps up the tension during Battle Scenes. Editing especially during Fight Scenes by Josh are fantastic. VFX is also fantastic.
On the Downside, The Film suffers from Pacing Issues. While the Entire First Hour is entirely concentrated on World Building and building up the momentum for Antagonists. Also Antagonist's Arcs (Skat King and Shimo) weren't properly etched and looked very half baked. A Main Character Is Introduces with much vigour and hype but unfortunately the underwriting of it makes the hype fail. Also The Climax Fight which was supposed to be the Highlight of the film where Titans fight each other , is cut short due to a shorter length. That Fight Could've been much better and bigger. Also the Film's Predictability kicks in the last 40 mins.
Director Adam Wingard has successfully managed to craft a Giant VFX Extravaganza that is fun till it lasts. But the Irregular Storytelling and Predictable execution comes as a Major roadblock. Thanks to Adam , he actually solved the major issues of too much focus on Humans , so he went full on with focus more on Titans. But who cares for all these , when you want Giant Titans fighting each other , everything else goes below it!
Overall : Godzilla X Kong : The New Empire might not be the best of the Franchise, but still Entertains terrifically and transports the Franchise from one point to next point properly.
Watch in the Biggest Screen Possible to Enjoy the Battle Scenes to the Fullest!
