Plot : A Disowned Son who holds a Grudge Against his Mother is called back by his Grandfather to cut off ties with her once and for all. An Agitated Protagonist decides to teach his Grandfather a Lesson. What follows is a Story of Reconciliation and Clash Of Egos .

Performance wise, it's Mahesh Babu's One Man Show Easily. Man just oozes with energy as Protagonist Ramana. His One liners , his punch dialogues and Meta References are very effective. Sreeleela gets a really crappy and dumb role and just tries to perform but unfortunately she cannot. Meenakshi Chaudhary just appears for 4-5 scenes , stands in the Background and leaves. Prakash Raj as an antagonist is very weakly and stereotypically written. Ramya Krishnan and Jayaram both are terrific performers but unfortunately are wasted. They only have just 1 or 2 scenes to perform. Vennela Kishore and Murali Sharma Comedy works at places. Jagapathi Babu wasted as usual. 
Technically the film is Average , Cinematography by Manoj Parahamsa is Strictly Basic and Average. Editing by Navin Nooli could've been better. Thaman's Mass BGMs( kinda repetitive same one) and Music are good. VFX below Average.

The Film just tries to be a Family Friendly Mass Masala Drama like Attarintiki Daredi or Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo and does not take itself too seriously. Though it's a wafer thin plotline , the plot has enough moments to keep the audience engaged till a point.

On the Flipside, The Film suffers from Sluggish Writing and Weak Characterization. Except for Mahesh Character, none of them are properly sketched. The writing is too Cliched and cringe at times. A Film which is touted to be an Emotional Film unfortunately, GK doesn't connect with Audience emotionally. A Predictable Screenplay and waywardly scenes make it even more bad at times.

Guruji Trivikram has tried to flip own Attarintiki Daredi and Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo but unfortunately it doesn't sit right. The genuinity of Trivikram's Writing which was heavily present in Trivikram -MB combo previous movies like Athadu and Khaleja is terribly missing here. At times felt like Trivikram didn't even develop a proper screenplay and just decided to believe that MB can take care of whatever they write. Yes, the film has its fun moments and its really refreshing to see MB play a commercial hero again without any social message but without a strong screenplay, it will not work.

Overall : Guntur Kaaram is a Decent Mass Masala Entertainer that is completely elevated by Mahesh Babu's terrific screen presence and Thaman's Terrific Music work , otherwise is a let down due to poor and inconsistent writing by Trivikram.
Its not Bad like Agnyathavaasi but its not great like Athadu or Khaleja also.
