Plot : Analeesan AKA Captain Miller becomes an Renegade Outlaw who fights against British to save his Village after witnessing an Atrocity committed by them against Indians.

Performance wise, Dhanush just lives as Captain Miller. Be it his Anguish or Anger of the character , Dhanush portrays it with utmost perfection. A noteworthy performance in his career. Shivaraj Kumar in a Small Yet powerful role makes the audience hoot each and every time he appears. Man just steals the scene whenever he appears. Priyank Mohan who plays Female Lead gets a good role but unfortunately her perfomance is very average and actually couldn't match with the intensity of the character. Sundeep Kishan appears in a breif yet fantastic role. Nivedditha Sathish does a great job with a limited role. John Kokken and Edward Sonenblick who play the Antagonist are sketched poorly but their performance is pretty good. Aditi Balan in a Cameo is okayish. Special Mention to Elango Kumaravel for a Fantastic performance. Also Abdool Lee in a Small Role creates a Big Impact.

Technically the film is Top-notch. GV Prakash's Songs are Average, but Background Score is just out of the world and literally elevated each and every scene to its maximum extent. Cinematography by Siddharth Nuni is World-class. His Framing and Shots are just mind-blowing. Editing by Nagooran Ramachandran is really good. Minimal Usage of VFX makes the film more authentic. Special Mention to the Art Director of the film for the Weapon Desgins and Set Designs that actually transport us into the Pre Independence Era !

Arun Matheshwaran has taken a very Simple Line and has sketched a beautiful story around it. More or less this film feels like a Character Journey witnessing through the character's pov. The Film's razor sharp dialogues and the visual representation of various Social Elements are just fantastic and are organically woven into the film and are not forced anyway. Special Mention to the Dialogue Writer and Additional Screenplay by Madhan Karky. 

On the downside, The Film might not work for everyone. The Film's storytelling is very slow and requires patience as its not a regular commercial film . It takes time to get into the main conflict. Also the excessive Violence may not sit well with everyone. 

On the whole , Captain Miller is a Earnest Attempt by Arun Matheshwaran that boasts a Powerful perfomance by Dhanush . Backed with some genius technicians, the film stands tall across the minor issues .

Overall: Captain Miller is a one of the rare films that come in Kollywood that stay true to its Genre and Storytelling and does not deviate anywhere. A Must watch for everyone in the Big Screen . Truly A Cinematic Masterpiece with minor issues.
