#AquamanAndTheLostKingdom #Aquaman2

English -2023 - Theatre
Starring: Jason Momoa , Amber Heard , Patrick Wilson , Abdul Mateen and Dolph Lundgren
Directed by James Wan

Plot : Post the Events of Aquaman, Arthur Curry who is now the King Of Atlantis and is married to Mera and leads a Happy Life . His peaceful life is threatened by David Kane AKA The Black Manta who now wields the staff of Lost Kingdom. With Help from his Half Brother Ocean Master Orm, Aquaman and his team race against time to Stop Black Manya from unleashing a Global Catastrophe.

Performance wise Jason Momoa just owns the screen whenever he appears . His Comic Timing is impeccable. Amber Heard Okayish. Patrick Wilson has once again proved that he is a very talented actor. His performance with Jason is fantastic. Abdul Mateen gets a meaty role but his performance is limited. Surprisingly Lundgren and Randall Park score at humour at times .

Technically the film is average. The VFX at times is good but at times it is so jarring. Music Decent. Cinematography good.

The biggest plus of the film is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. The film follows a regular Marvel type pattern and focuses more on Humour than Action. Some of the humour actually works. Some Action sequences are fantastically choreographed.

Beyond that the film doesn't try anything outside the regular Superhero template. While the film tries to work as World building Entry in the universe, it doesn't make much of an impact. The Outdated and Predictable Story with Flat Narration puts down the film even more. The Jarring Early 2000s types VFX and Editing bogs down.(Don't know whether it was a conscious decision or artistic choice).

This being the last entry in the DCEU , could've been a much much better farewell for both Aquaman and DC, but sadly the film misses it. The film has the right aim but the execution and Technicalities failed to cope up with it.

Highlights :
1)Jason Momoa's Humourous Performance
2)Patrick Wilson
3)Randal Park and Dolph Lundgren Sequences

Overall: Aquaman 2 is a template driven Superhero Filler film that doesn't offer anything completely new or out of the box. Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson's camaraderie on screen is the only saving grace.

Was it Bad : At Times Yes
Did i enjoy it : Yess

The film technically falls into a category where you can enjoy for the fun sequences at theatre with your friends or family during Festivals but with heavy reservations.

Rating : 2.5/5
