Plot : Allius Ceaser, A Notorious Gangster from Madurai hires Director Ray Dasan to direct his Autobiographical Film . What follows is an unexpected journey which forever changes both the character's lives.

Coming to Performances, Hats Off to both Raghava Lawrence and S.J Suriyah who gave a stunning performance. While SJS does a subtle and emotional performance, it is Lawrence who just steals the show with his natural and powerful acting. His career best performance easily. Nimisha Sajayan as Lawrence Wife gets a small yet impactful role while she does a really good job. Naveen Chandra as the Prime Antagonist is fantastic whereas Shine Tom Chacko could've been used better. Ilavarasu on a Side role is really good. Sanchana could've used better. Small yet noticeable role for Aravind Akash. Limited Screenspace for Sathyan , yet he provides some good laughs here and there. His combo with SJS was really great.

Technically the film is strong. Be it Thirunavakarusu's Spellbounding Cinematography or Santhosh Narayanan's Thumping BGM , the film stands tall. Fantastic Editing by Shafique. Exceptional Work by SaNa on the songs and BGMs.
Special Mention to Stunt Choreography by Dilip Subbarayan master. They're Raw and Natural.


Talking about the Negatives, the only negatives personally for me was the Length of the film. The film clocks around 3hrs might be a bit tiring for some people. Also felt like Shine Tom Chacko's Character Arc could've been explored more.

Coming to the Writer Director Karthik Subbaraj, the man has completely reinvented himself and outdone what he did with Jigarthanda Part 1. While Part 1 was merely an Entertainment film, Double X especially the second half worked as a Social Commentary on some untouched topics and the Power of Cinema. The film is brilliantly written and supported by Wonderfully Crafted Dialogues that make the film even more powerful. Special Mention to the Dialogue Writers. A Politically Fantastic yet Subtly conveyed Message does not drop as Forced or Cliched. Loved all the homage sequences to Clint Eastwood and Rajinikanth.While the Tonal Changes from First Half to Second Half might be a bit overwhelming for some , barring minor issues here and there , Jigarthanda Double X is a a fantastic film.

Overall : Jigarthanda Double X is a rare Piece Of Art which celebrates Cinema and sheds light on some of untouched topics in Cinema. Supported by a Equally Competing SJS and Lawrence Master , JDX is a must watch for everyone!

One day, Kural confesses her love to Agan, but he rejects her, saying he never saw her that way. Heartbroken, Kural leaves the city for higher studies. Later, Agan realizes he truly loves her and goes to win her back, only to find that she has fallen for another man, Paari.
