#Adiyea ! Review

Plot : Jeeva , an youngster falls in love with his classmate Senthazhini. After a lot of struggles finally he gathers courage and decides to propose her but unfortunately meets with an accident. When he wakes up , he realises that he has been transported to a Alternate Reality where things are completely different. What happens then ? Did he propose to Senthazhini and what happens in the alternative reality forms the rest of crux of the film.

GVP as Jeeva has done a decent job in portraying a confused youngster. Gouri looks mature and has done a mature performance. Venkat Prabhu in a extended cameo type is really fun to watch. Mirchi Vijay's One Liners work terrifically at places. A decent debut by Madhumkesh.

Technically the film is good. Music by Justin Prabhakaran is excellent . Gokul Benoy's Cinematography is good in showing variation between two realities . Editing by Muthayan is decent . VFX is very less but still could've been much better .
Director Vignesh Karthick has taken a simple one liner and has tried to spin a sci-fi rom com around it and has almost succeeded in that. The Film's World Building in the alternative reality is exceptional. Be it the change of Roles by Famous Celebraties to simple Mall Names , the Creativity is really cool. The film's USP is its use of a Complex Sci-Fi Concept in a Love story. 

On the Downside, The USP of the film becomes volatile. Either it can work for you for its unique blend of Sci-fi and Romance or might just look as a stupid combination. It's Based on every viewers perception on this mix of genre. The Emotional Connect of the film is a hit and Miss. It works sometimes , sometimes it might not. Also the Alternate Reality Concept (though is explained very easily) could be confusing for some audience.

The Film's Treatment of not taking itself too seriously works largely and also that's the reason why some emotional moments/twists that are supposed to work can backfire easily.

But looking beyond this, the film can be watched for the quirky setup and a new take on typical rom-com that comes regularly.

Overall : Adiyea is a flawed yet funny genre mix of Sci-Fi and Romcom that doesn't take itself too seriously. Though the film falters at times , the Alternate Reality Setup is what makes the film unique. It's completely upon the Viewers take whether they like the unique mix or not.
