Plot : Jay, a Raw Agent who is a pursuit of a Deadly Arms Dealer named Khadir Khan stumbes across the shocking fact that , Khadir Khan has stolen a classified file that belongs to Subhash Chandra Bose. What is in that file? How it is connected with Khadir Khan? And how Jay retrieves the file forms the rest of the story.

Performance wise, Nikhil as Jay is energetic. Though there are not special moments for him to perform, he's done a fairly good job. Ishwarya Menon gets a decent role and performs average meter. Abhinav Gomatam gets a fantastic role and he nails it with his terrific one liners which invoke laughter quite a few times. Jishu Sengupta wasted in a typical role. Other cast members like Raviverma , Sanya Thakur , Makarand Deshpande, Tanikella Bharani , Etc get a very caricaturish roles and perform strictly one dimensionally.

Technically, the film is a Hit and Miss. Cinematography by Vamsi ,Mark and Julian try to convey the films magnanimity through visuals , but unfortunately the visuals don't stand apart. Editing by Garry BH is shockingly mediocre. As the editor who has done neat and sleek editing for thrillers like HIT 1,HIT2 , Major , Kshanam, etc... The Editing in this film is subpar. Music by Sricharan Pakala is noisy and repetitive. Azaadi Song alone stands out . The VFX is pretty decent but is laughable in some places.

On The Downside , The film is so artificial and does not even try to be smart. The Proceedings are shown in a very bland manner. Also the Predictability kicks in really hard many times. The So widely Marketed Subhash Chandra Bose File Sequence is just merely used as a Story Object . The Screenplay built around it is too average. The Way they marketed this film was so wrong it was almost like a clickbait.

Writer Rajashekhar Reddy's Core Concept is very interesting but the way the screenplay is written is so cliched and generic. The Horribly written romance track and amateurly over the top performance by some actors mar down the film. Director Garry BH tries to present the film in a interesting international manner but unfortunately, the script's silliness and forced addition of Netaji Track does not allow the film to progress in a structured manner .

Overall : Spy is a generic Spy thriller that highly depends upon its Netaji Track as the USP to audience (while that track is also painfully average). Once Watchable for Timepass .
