Kabzaa Review

Plot : Set in British Rule Period, Arkeshwara (Upendra) an Airforce Pilot who is the son of a Freedom Fighter is forced into the world of Gangsters and Mafia after his Family is harmed. Soon he realises that it's an one way path and decides to take over anything and everything that comes infront of him. But is soon confronted by a Sincere Police Officer Bhargav Bakshi(Sudeep).

Performance wise Upendra is great but seems like hes a terrible misfit for the role. His character transition from so good to utmost evil lacks the conviction and seems artificial. Sudeep in a cameo is okayish . 
Shriya is gorgeous but doesn't have scope to perform. Murali Sharma , Nawab Shah , Dev Gil , etc all get a limited amount of time and are okayish at their parts .
Shivaraj Kumar in a Finale Cameo seems unnecessary and forced but he is powerful on screen.

Music by Ravi Basrur seems to have heavy inspiration from KGF. Kabzaa title track was really good . BGMS average.. remaining songs doesn't stand-up to the mark . Cinematography by A.J.Shetty is phenomenal . Though it has heavy KGF shades it stands out at parts . Editing by Mahesh S Reddy could've been much much better. The abrupt cuts were bad. VFX was horrible.
Director R Chandru has taken a very very decent plot and has tried to spin a saga around it but unfortunately it fails high time. The Gangster' Arka's Rise seem to be so easy without any much complications...the man just goes out guns blazing and wins all the time. The Artificiality of the film hits majorly . Mother Sentiment , Rise to Power , Having a Bigger Villain entry at last all seem to be just rephrased from KGF. The Mother Character which was huge part of Rocky's Journey in KGF is just forgetton here. We get a mother character who is completely okay with her son becoming a huge gangster and beheading people. The Inner conflict which Arka/Arkeshwara faces seems to be pretty interesting (A Freedom Fighter's Son becoming a Gangster) but unfortunately is not even explored 1%. The Confusion is just put down hastily. 
Even the Elevations which worked in KGF , looks very very silly here in fact even makes you think whether is a Spoof of KGF elevations. The Cliff Hanger Finale and Lead to Sequel looks ridiculous and doesn't even make any sense.

Overall : Kabzaa is a wannabe KGF that tries so hard but unfortunately doesn't even come near K of KGF.
With complete bad cast and silliest narration the film falls flat even before it stands up.
