Dhamaka Review

#Dhamaka
2022-Telugu
Starring : Raviteja , Sreeleela, Jayaram , Sachin Khedekar, Tanikella Bharani , Rao Ramesh and Chirag Jani
Directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina
Plot : Aanand Chakravarthy (Raviteja) is a billionaire who is on a mission to save his Dying Father's Company Peoples Mart from the evil sights of JP(Jayaram). On the other side Swamy(Raviteja) is a commoner who has lost his job and is searching for a job. How are these two connected and how the Company Peoples Mart is saved forms the rest of the crux.

Raviteja as Swami and Anand is in terrific form. After a couple of duds , RT is fully energetic. While Anand is witty and brainy , Swami is sarcastic and brawny. Though there's not much variations RT does a great job in both roles. Sreeleela is graceful while dancing but still proves that she's a Amateur in acting. Jayaram tries to be menacing as the Antagonist but has only succeeded half way. His characterization seemed one note. Other supporting cast like Rao Ramesh , Tanikella Bharani , Pavitra Lokesh , etc get a small part and have done a good job. Special Mention to Hyper Aadi and Rao Ramesh as their scenes are clearly laugh riot.

Bheems Cecireleo 's Music is Thumping. Jinthaak and Mass Raja were a blast on screen. Other songs are good and bgms are nice. Karthik Ghattamaneni Cinematography and Prawin Pudi Editing is standard. Neither great nor bad.

Writer Prasana Kumar Bezawaada has taken a age old story and tried to whip it up better Screenplay unfortunately it doesn't end up entirely new. The film follows all the tried and tested cliches and doesn't try to budge from it.
The Treatment is also so generic but the film doesn't fall bad anywhere. The film lags at minor parts especially in the second half but quickly moves and doesn't stay at a particular event/sequence alone. The biggest asset of the film is it never tries to take itself too seriously. It's so self conscious to become not too serious.

On the flip side the film has a average second half and a Weak Antagonist. The film is predictable at parts and the main Interval bang seems pretty decent on screen but it's utterly predictable right from the first scene itself.
Trinadha Rao Nakkina's Direction is average neither bad or great it's middle somewhere.

Overall : Dhamaka is a fun film that is definitely better than other two Raviteja Outings that came this year. While the film is not RT's return to Form but definitely is a step better. A Logicless Mass Masala Action Entertainer that entertains largely but falls flat at portions.

Rating : 2.5/5
